How many bowl games have passed us by? 8? 9? Has there been any excitement? any real coverage?
Last night was a bowl game, Sports Centers' ENTIRE SHOW was based around week 16 and the NFL playoffs, there was 45 seconds dedicated to last nights bowl game in that entire ONE HOUR SHOW!
A Bowl game that had a comeback, a gutsy 2 point conversion by Toledo, Lead changes back and forth in the last 2 minutes of the game, a game decided on a 4th and 17 and a Field Goal with no time left on the clock!
Sounds like another classic college football game that will go right into the history books as a classic!! What a win by FIU! They sneak away with a win and move on in the NCAA Playoffs! What a classic NCAA Football game!! Wrong again....
The WHOLE SHOW WAS ABOUT THE NFL Week #16 and the up coming playoff race....Key word is PLAYOFFS! People care more right now about NFL Playoffs that have not even started yet then a college football team's final game of the season.
Watch the games....nobody is in the stands, nobody cares anymore! Before any of the good 9 and 3 teams play, its already been 3 to 5 weeks before they last played, its a whole new season, it is any ones game and its a pure joke.
Even Joe Pa, coaching at the D-1 Level for goodness knows how long, said Penn State's bowl game is so far away from the end of the season he is treating it likes its a brand new year.
No other sport.
Imagine if in NCAA Basketball, in March Madness, after we get from 68 teams down to 2 teams, they dont play a game for a month and then do the championship.
Imagine in the NFL after the Playoffs end in January, They take a month off and played the Super Bowl in Early March.
In MLB, after playing 162 Games and then the playoffs, lets not play a game for about a month and then do the World Series.
Sounds pretty silly? Thats because it is....College Football...The only sport...
